These patch files, available only on the 5494, are "feature" patches that will never exist in a PTF or be given to all customers, but are created for specific customers who request them. When you download these files, copy them to PATCH5.DAT on the 5494 System Diskette (a 2.88 meg disk drive is required).

Creating Diskettes

Diskette images ending with the .dsk extension must be downloaded and then uncompressed using LOADDSKF. You may obtain the self-extracting file, ldf.com, which includes LOADDSKF here.
After you download the .dsk file and ldf.com, put a blank 1.44 MB diskette (for Utility) or 2.88 MB (for System) diskette in the drive and then, from a DOS or OS/2 Window, type ldf to extract LOADDSKF.EXE. Then type LOADDSKF <the name of the .dsk file you just downloaded> <your floppy drive, e.g. a:> to create the diskette.

Warning! It is strongly recommended that you do not run any PC commands against your newly created 5494 diskette. Some PC applications can change the boot sector on the diskette and will make the diskette unusable in a 5494 controller. If you try to use a diskette whose boot sector was changed, the 5494 will not boot up and you will get the error code '003-04 1' on the 5494 Op Panel.
