The IBM Dual EtherStreamer (TM) MC 32 Adapter is a two port high performance 10Base-T Ethernet adapter designed to operate with any personal computer that supports the Micro Channel(R) (MC) bus interface.
This adapter is a 32-bit Ethernet busmaster adapter, and is particularly well suited for servers with multiple LAN connections. It provides media speed throughput at all frame sizes and has 40MB data streaming capability. Network performance is increased by reducing the number of host CPU cycles required to send and receive data on the network and by increasing the throughput of data onto the Ethernet network. In addition, the IBM Dual EtherStreamer MC 32 Adapter can operate in full-duplex or half-duplex modes, allowing transmission on the Ethernet network at 20Mbps or 10Mbps, respectively, and supports Ethernet bridging using transparent bridging or source routing techniques.
The IBM Dual EtherStreamer MC 32 Adapter allows attachment to an Ethernet network using 10Base-T (twisted-pair) media. The IBM Dual EtherStreamer MC 32 Adapter contains upgradeable microcode and is compatible with other IBM Ethernet adapters operating at the same speed over the Ethernet network. The protocols conform to IEEE 802.3 and Ethernet Version 2 standards.
The IBM Dual EtherStreamer MC 32 Adapter requires one full size 32-bit MC slot.

IBM Dual EtherStreamer MC 32 Adapter leads the industry in two port adapter performance when used with the PS/2 Model 95 with data streaming, and should be considered in server environments where high-performance and a two port adapter are desired. It supports 10Base-T (twisted pair) cabling.
The existing IBM EtherStreamer MC 32 Adapter adapter is a single port high-performance workstation/server adapter and should be considered for single port server or high-performance workstation requirements.

Note. The use of Communications Manager/2 on a local area network requires the LAN Adapter and Protocol Support (LAPS) function. Communications Manager/2 V1.1 includes IBM Network Transport Services/2 (NTS/2), which provides the LAPS function. Communications Manager/2 V1.0 does not include NTS/2 and does not provide the LAPS function, but can utilize the LAPS component that is provided with one of several other products. The products include the LAN Requester of the IBM LAN Server Version 2.0, the LAPS component shipped with the IBM LAN Server Version 3.0, and the Extended Services for OS/2 product. The IBM Dual EtherStreamer MC 32 Adapter is compatible with other 10Base-T Ethernet adapters operating at the same speed (20Mbps or 10Mbps).
The IBM Dual EtherStreamer MC 32 Adapter is designed to operate in a MC bus computer that is compliant with MC specifications.
The IBM Dual EtherStreamer MC 32 Adapter supports the IBM LAN Network Manager Version V1.1 and can be monitored as a critical resource in a LAN Network Manager managed domain.
A maximum of four IBM Dual EtherStreamer MC 32 Adapter products can be installed in a machine. The IBM Dual EtherStreamer MC 32 Adapter is not supported in the 9576i 25 MHz systems or 9577i 25MHz systems.
A customer-supplied attachment cable is required to connect this adapter to the 10Base-T Ethernet Network. The cable must have an RJ-45 connector on the adapter end of the cable. The other end of the cable should have the appropriate connector for attachment to the customer's wall outlet.
