193-116 IBM THINKPAD 720 AND 720C SYSTEMS The ThinkPad (R) 720 and 720C Micro Channel (R) systems are designed to provide a small, light-weight, battery- or AC-operated portable notebook computer. The 720 and 720C computers are convenient to use and carry, and are a general business solution for the mobile, field or desk-bound professional. The ThinkPad 720 and 720C systems provide expansion capability by providing PCMCIA support for PC Cards Type I, Type II or Type III. The ThinkPad 720 and 720C systems conform to the PCMCIA PC Card Standard Release 2.01 and the PCMCIA Card and Socket Services Specification Release 2.0, dated November 1992. The 720 and 720C also implement IBM's low-power 486SLC2 50/25MHz processor for excellent performance at the speed required by advanced applications and operating systems. The ThinkPad 720 and 720C systems are offered in three models (two monochrome, one color) and come preinstalled with DOS/Prodigy (1). Hard disk capacities of 120MB (million byte) (9552-307) and 160MB (9552-308, 9552-30J) are available. The ThinkPad 720 monochrome model may be upgraded to a color model 720C configuration through IBM PS/Direct by calling 800-IBM-2YOU (426-2968). To complement this system and features announcement, an optional 160MB and 240MB HDD, and an optional Port Replicator for cable management are supported on the ThinkPad 700/700C and 720/720C systems. In addition an IBM High Speed PCMCIA Data/FAX Modem (2), an IBM PCMCIA Data/FAX Modem (3), IBM's Token-Ring 16/4, and Ethernet and 3270 Emulation Credit Card adapters are supported on the ThinkPad 720 and 720C systems. Because of IBM's continued commitment to enhance product reliability, these 9552 products will carry a three-year warranty for the system unit and a one-year warranty for the options, with ThinkPad EasyServ and customer carry-in repair (CCR) service. International Traveler's Hardware Warranty Service is included for customers traveling to countries where this product is sold by IBM and/or IBM authorized remarketers.
