The IBM 7533 Industrial Computer Model B31 and Model R31 offer increased function and higher processor performance when compared to the 7531 and 7532 Industrial Computers. The 7533 Industrial Computer is primarily oriented towards the manufacturing, process and transportation industries.
The IBM 7533 Industrial Computer Model B31 and Model R31 are designed to allow customers who have developed applications to run on a Personal Computer AT system to continue to do so with minimal changes to the applications, thus protecting the customers investment.
The improved attributes of the IBM 7533 Industrial Computer Model B31 and Model R31 allow customers to enjoy increased performance while remaining compatible with most DOS application programs and having an easy migration path to the Operating System/2 (TM) (OS/2 (R)) operating system.
FUNCTIONALITY: The IBM 7533 Industrial Computer Model B31 and Model R31 provide increased function and higher processor performance when compared to the 7531 and 7532 Industrial Computers. The increased functionality includes standard VGA support, bench-top configuration and increased processor speed.
RELIABILITY/AVAILABILITY: Increased reliability is obtained by the use of a cooling fan and filter which are designed to move filtered cooler air over critical components of the IBM 7533 Industrial Computer Model B31 and Model R31. This air movement then exits the system thru the media area acting as a "Positive Pressure" system and reducing the chance of particulates entering and causing potential damage.
An internally mounted battery allows continuous operation through brief main power interruptions (up to 10 (+/- 10%) seconds at full load for a maximum of one occurence per hour). The battery is recharged automatically when the system is connected to normal AC power.
The Battery-backed power supply FC 6669 is an optional Feature.
EXPLOITATION: These improvements allow customers to continue their
current applications (DOS or OS/2) already running on the 7531 and 7532
Industrial Computers on the higher performance IBM 7533 Industrial Computer Model B31 and Model R31 with minimal
modifications.
INVESTMENT PROTECTION
FUNCTIONALITY: The IBM 7533 Industrial Computer Model B31 and Model R31 provide investment protection by providing compatibility with the 7531 and 7532 Industrial Computers. Customers that have developed applications to run on a Personal Computer AT or the 7531 and 7532 Industrial Computers can continue to do so with minimal changes to applications. to run on a PC/AT based system can continue to do so with no changes to the applications.
PERFORMANCE: The improved attributes of the IBM 7533 Industrial Computer Model B31 and Model R31 allow customers to enjoy increased performance while remaining compatible with most DOS application programs and maintaining the ability to migrate to the Operating System/2 (TM) (OS/2 (R)) operating system.
STANDARDS AND ARCHITECTURES: The IBM 7533 Industrial Computer Model B31 and Model R31 are designed to be compatible
with the IBM Personal Computer AT architecture.
GROWTH ENABLEMENT
FUNCTIONALITY: The improved functionality of the IBM 7533 Industrial Computer Model B31 and Model R31 allow customers to remain compatible with most DOS application programs while providing the ability to handle more complex or demanding applications.

A special keyboard cable for attachment of the keyboard to the 7533 will be included with the 7533 Systems unit and need not be ordered separately.
The 7525/7527 Data Collection Terminals are supported by the 7533.
The IBM 7533 Industrial Computer Model B31 and Model R31 come standard with a 30 million byte (MB) fixed disk drive. There are no fixed disk upgrades available.
220v System cable should be ordered separately based on country requirement.
Installation time for the IBM 7533 Industrial Computer Model B31 and Model R31 is approximately 1.5 hours.

WARRANTY: A : 12 Months.
If purchased under the IBM Purchase Agreement the IBM Service/Exchange Repair Center Amendment applies. All service options announced as available under the Maintenance Agreement (see paragraph MAINTENANCE OFFERINGS) are available at Customer discretion and without additional charge during the warranty period.
IBM offers maintenance service as follows:
On customer request, IBM will provide ON-Site Assistance to perform Customer Problem Analysis and Resolution (CPAR). IBM will use the same documentation that is available to the customer. This service is provided on an hourly basis at the applicable hourly rates and terms and conditions.
