Brief Description of Announcement, Charges, and Availability

       The Personal System/2 (R) (PS/2 (R)) Internal Tape Backup Unit
Installation Kit B (#2991, 64F7465) allows the PS/2 Internal Tape
Backup Unit (#5279, 30F5279), which is sold separately, to connect to
and be easily installed in the following PS/2 systems:
o   PS/2 Model 65 SX
o   PS/2 Model 80 -- System Units A16, A21, A31, 081, 121, 161 and
    321 (not required for installation in System Units 041, 071, 111
    and 311)
o   PS/2 Model 90
o   PS/2 Model 95.
       The kit contains a cable with an edge connector on one end and
a 34-pin connector on the other end, installation and test
instructions, a diagnostic diskette and bezels.  The PS/2 Internal
Tape Backup Unit Installation Kit B (#2991, 64F7465) replaces the
PS/2 Internal Tape Backup Unit Installation Kit A (#2990, 34F2990).
       Planned Availability Date:  November 2, 1990.

DESCRIPTION
GROWTH ENABLEMENT
The PS/2 Internal Tape Backup Unit Installation Kit B allows users to
easily install the PS/2 Internal Tape Backup Unit in the supported
PS/2 models.  The kit contains:
o   A cable with an edge connector on one end and a 34-pin connector
    on the other end
o   Installation and test instructions
o   Diagnostic diskette
o   Bezels.

       The publication, Installation and Test Instructions
(G571-0204) (part number 34F2710) is shipped with the product.
SCHEDULE
       The planned availability date is November 2, 1990.

SPECIFIED OPERATING ENVIRONMENT
MACHINE REQUIREMENTS:  The PS/2 Internal Tape Backup Unit
Installation Kit B is used on the PS/2 Model 65 SX System Units 061,
121 and 321, PS/2 Model 80 System Units 081, 121, 161, 321, A16, A21
and A31, PS/2 Model 90 System Units 0J5, 0J9 and 0KD, and the PS/2
Model 95 XP 486 System Units 0J9, 0JD and 0KD.
PLANNING INFORMATION
CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES:  The PS/2 Internal Tape Backup Unit
Installation Kit B is designed as customer setup.  Installation
instructions are enclosed in the package.
CABLE ORDERS:  No cables required.
INSTALLABILITY:  Installation time for the PS/2 Internal Tape Backup
Unit Installation Kit B is approximately 20 minutes.
