192-227 IBM PS/2 486SLC2 PROCESSOR UPGRADE FOR IBM PS/2 MODEL 56 SX
        AND 56 SLC, MODEL 57 SX, 57 SLC, M57 SLC AND IBM 7546
        INDUSTRIAL COMPUTER
       The PS/2 (R) 486SLC2 Processor Upgrade (#2310, 32G3606) is FCC
approved and available for ordering.  The upgrade option features the
IBM 486SLC2 microprocessor and provides capability to enhance the
following systems:
o   IBM PS/2 Model 56 SX (8556-043, 045, 14X, 24X)
o   IBM PS/2 Model 56 SLC (TM) (8556-15X, 25X, 055, 059)
o   IBM PS/2 Model 57 SX (8557-045, 049)
o   IBM PS/2 Model 57 SLC (8557-055, 059, 05F*)
o   IBM PS/2 M57 SLC (259)
o   IBM 7546 Industrial Computer*.
       The microprocessor includes an internal memory cache
controller and 16KB memory cache.  The IBM PS/2 486SLC2 Processor
Upgrade operates at double the system clock speed (40MHz) for
internal operations and at the system clock speed (20MHz) for
external operations.  The combination of double clock speed,
integrated cache and optimized instructions provides up to a 271%
performance increase over 386SX-20MHz systems and up to 99%
performance increase over 386SLC (TM)-20MHz systems.  The level of
performance attained is up to 53% greater than 486SX-20MHz systems
and up to 20% greater than 486SX-25MHz systems.
