XPropertyEvent(3X11) AIX (XLIB FUNCTIONS) XPropertyEvent(3X11) NAME XPropertyEvent - PropertyNotify event structure STRUCTURES The structure for _P_r_o_p_e_r_t_y_N_o_t_i_f_y events contains: typedef struct { int type; /* PropertyNotify */ unsigned long serial; /* # of last request processed by server */ Bool send_event; /* true if this came from a SendEvent request */ Display *display; /* Display the event was read from */ Window window; Atom atom; Time time; int state; /* PropertyNewValue or PropertyDelete */ } XPropertyEvent; When you receive this event, the structure members are set as follows. The type member is set to the event type constant name that uniquely identifies it. For example, when the X server reports a _G_r_a_p_h_i_c_s_E_x_p_o_s_e event to a client application, it sends an _X_G_r_a_p_h_i_c_s_E_x_p_o_s_e_E_v_e_n_t structure with the type member set to _G_r_a_p_h_i_c_s_E_x_p_o_s_e. The display member is set to a pointer to the display the event was read on. The send_event member is set to _T_r_u_e if the event came from a _S_e_n_d_E_v_e_n_t protocol request. The serial member is set from the serial number reported in the protocol but expanded from the 16-bit least-significant bits to a full 32-bit value. The window member is set to the window that is most useful to toolkit dispatchers. The window member is set to the window whose associated pro- perty was changed. The atom member is set to the property's atom and indicates which property was changed or desired. The time member is set to the server time when the property was changed. The state member is set to indicate whether the property was changed to a new value or deleted and can be _P_r_o_p_e_r_t_y_N_e_w_V_a_l_u_e or _P_r_o_p_e_r_t_y_D_e_l_e_t_e. The state member is set to _P_r_o_p_e_r_t_y_N_e_w_V_a_l_u_e when a property of the window is changed using _X_C_h_a_n_g_e_P_r_o_p_e_r_t_y or _X_R_o_t_a_t_e_W_i_n_d_o_w_P_r_o_p_e_r_t_i_e_s (even when adding zero-length data using _X_C_h_a_n_g_e_P_r_o_p_e_r_t_y) and when replacing all or part of a property with identical data using _X_C_h_a_n_g_e_P_r_o_p_e_r_t_y or _X_R_o_t_a_t_e_W_i_n_d_o_w_P_r_o_p_e_r_t_i_e_s. The state member is set to _P_r_o_p_e_r_t_y_D_e_l_e_t_e when a property of the window is deleted using _X_D_e_l_e_t_e_P_r_o_p_e_r_t_y or, if the delete argument is _T_r_u_e, _X_G_e_t_W_i_n_d_o_w_P_r_o_p_e_r_t_y.
