XInstallColormap(3X11)AIX (XLIB FUNCTIONS) XInstallColormap(3X11) NAME XInstallColormap, XUninstallColormap, XListInstalledColor- maps - control colormaps SYNTAX XInstallColormap(_d_i_s_p_l_a_y, _c_o_l_o_r_m_a_p) Display *_d_i_s_p_l_a_y; Colormap _c_o_l_o_r_m_a_p; XUninstallColormap(_d_i_s_p_l_a_y, _c_o_l_o_r_m_a_p) Display *_d_i_s_p_l_a_y; Colormap _c_o_l_o_r_m_a_p; Colormap *XListInstalledColormaps(_d_i_s_p_l_a_y, _w, _n_u_m__r_e_t_u_r_n) Display *_d_i_s_p_l_a_y; Window _w; int *_n_u_m__r_e_t_u_r_n; ARGUMENTS _c_o_l_o_r_m_a_p Specifies the colormap. _d_i_s_p_l_a_y Specifies the connection to the X server. _n_u_m__r_e_t_u_r_n Returns the number of currently installed color- maps. _w Specifies the window that determines the screen. DESCRIPTION The _X_I_n_s_t_a_l_l_C_o_l_o_r_m_a_p function installs the specified color- map for its associated screen. All windows associated with this colormap immediately display with true colors. You associated the windows with this colormap when you created them by calling _X_C_r_e_a_t_e_W_i_n_d_o_w, _X_C_r_e_a_t_e_S_i_m_p_l_e_W_i_n_d_o_w, _X_C_h_a_n_g_e_W_i_n_d_o_w_A_t_t_r_i_b_u_t_e_s, or _X_S_e_t_W_i_n_d_o_w_C_o_l_o_r_m_a_p. If the specified colormap is not already an installed color- map, the X server generates a _C_o_l_o_r_m_a_p_N_o_t_i_f_y event on each window that has that colormap. In addition, for every other colormap that is installed as a result of a call to _X_I_n_- _s_t_a_l_l_C_o_l_o_r_m_a_p, the X server generates a _C_o_l_o_r_m_a_p_N_o_t_i_f_y event on each window that has that colormap. _X_I_n_s_t_a_l_l_C_o_l_o_r_m_a_p can generate a _B_a_d_C_o_l_o_r error. The _X_U_n_i_n_s_t_a_l_l_C_o_l_o_r_m_a_p function removes the specified color- map from the required list for its screen. As a result, the specified colormap might be uninstalled, and the X server might implicitly install or uninstall additional colormaps. Which colormaps get installed or uninstalled is server- dependent except that the required list must remain installed. Rev. Release 5 Page 1 XInstallColormap(3X11)AIX (XLIB FUNCTIONS) XInstallColormap(3X11) If the specified colormap becomes uninstalled, the X server generates a _C_o_l_o_r_m_a_p_N_o_t_i_f_y event on each window that has that colormap. In addition, for every other colormap that is installed or uninstalled as a result of a call to _X_U_n_i_n_- _s_t_a_l_l_C_o_l_o_r_m_a_p, the X server generates a _C_o_l_o_r_m_a_p_N_o_t_i_f_y event on each window that has that colormap. _X_U_n_i_n_s_t_a_l_l_C_o_l_o_r_m_a_p can generate a _B_a_d_C_o_l_o_r error. The _X_L_i_s_t_I_n_s_t_a_l_l_e_d_C_o_l_o_r_m_a_p_s function returns a list of the currently installed colormaps for the screen of the speci- fied window. The order of the colormaps in the list is not significant and is no explicit indication of the required list. When the allocated list is no longer needed, free it by using _X_F_r_e_e. _X_L_i_s_t_I_n_s_t_a_l_l_e_d_C_o_l_o_r_m_a_p_s can generate a _B_a_d_W_i_n_d_o_w error. DIAGNOSTICS _B_a_d_C_o_l_o_r A value for a Colormap argument does not name a defined Colormap. _B_a_d_W_i_n_d_o_w A value for a Window argument does not name a defined Window.
