DOMAINNAME(1,C) AIX Commands Reference DOMAINNAME(1,C) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- domainname PURPOSE Sets or displays the name of the current network information service (NIS) domain. SYNTAX +--------+ domainname ---| |---| +- name -+ DESCRIPTION The domainname command displays the name of the current NIS domain. If you have superuser authority, you can also use this command to set the name of the domain. A domain is a group of host machines in the network. The name of the domain typically is set in the startup script for the /etc/rc.nfs file.
