Release 3.2 Patches (link)

Patch files can be loaded onto the 5494 System diskettes Patch files that are not yet in PTFs may also be listed. These patch files represent fixes to problems that are found, but the fixes have not yet appeared in a PTF. Patch files are cumulative, that is, the latest patch file includes all previously released maintenance updates for a given 5494 release.

  1. Download the jd32disk.p1c patch linked below
  2. Put a 5494 Release 3.2 System diskette in your PC's 2.88 MB diskette A: drive
  3. Go to a DOS or OS/2 session and COPY JD32DISK.P1C A:PATCH4.DAT
  4. Put the diskette into the 5494 and re-boot your controller
Your patches are now applied.

Release 3.2 Feature Patches (link)

These patch files, available only on the 5494, are "feature" patches that will never exist in a PTF or be given to all customers, but are created for specific customers who request them. When you download these files, copy them to PATCH5.DAT on the 5494 System Diskette (a 2.88 meg disk drive is required).

  1. Download a feature patch file linked below
  2. Put a 5494 Release 3.2 System diskette in your PC's 2.88 MB diskette A: drive
  3. Go to a DOS or OS/2 session and COPY <file that you just downloaded> A:PATCH5.DAT
  4. Put the diskette into the 5494 and re-boot your controller
Your feature patch patch is now applied.

Note: Feature patch files are mutually exclusive (You can't apply more than one per diskette).

   (normally it does not beep).
jd32disk.ses Allow a max of 20 PWSs with a max of 128 sessions per PWS
(normally, max of 80 PWSs / max 32 sessions per PWS).
jd32disk.se2 Allows max of 40 PWSs with a max of 64 sessions per PWS
(normally, max of 80 PWSs / max 32 sessions per PWS).

Creating Diskettes

Diskette images ending with the .dsk extension must be downloaded and then uncompressed using LOADDSKF. You may obtain the self-extracting file, ldf.com, which includes LOADDSKF here.
After you download the .dsk file and ldf.com, put a blank 1.44 MB diskette (for Utility) or 2.88 MB (for System) diskette in the drive and then, from a DOS or OS/2 Window, type ldf to extract LOADDSKF.EXE. Then type LOADDSKF <the name of the .dsk file you just downloaded> <your floppy drive, e.g. a:> to create the diskette.

Warning! It is strongly recommended that you do not run any PC commands against your newly created 5494 diskette. Some PC applications can change the boot sector on the diskette and will make the diskette unusable in a 5494 controller. If you try to use a diskette whose boot sector was changed, the 5494 will not boot up and you will get the error code '003-04 1' on the 5494 Op Panel.
