IBM 3151 ASCII DISPLAY STATION NEW MODELS AND ENHANCEMENTS Contents Announcement Letter Number 189-071 dated May 2, 1989 US - Last Revised on May 2, 1989 Brief Description of Announcement, Charges, and Availability IBM 3151 ASCII Display Station Models 510/560 and 610/660 are ASCII asynchronous display terminals designed to attach to personal computer systems (like Personal System/2 (R) (PS/2 (R)) and RT (R) Systems) running under a multiuser operating system (like AIX (TM) PS/2 or AIX/RT). A 14-inch CRT displays up to 25 data lines, and the 101-key keyboard has a layout the same as that of the PS/2 keyboard. The 3151 Models 510/560 and 610/660 communicate with the host computer through its main port interface selectable by the user to be RS-232C or RS-422A. Communication with auxiliary devices such as a serial printer or mouse is via the RS-232C auxiliary port. Recommended for personal computer multiuser systems requiring ASCII or personal computer scan code, a PS/2 style keyboard or plan to implement text windows. The current 3151 Models 110/160, 310/360/31Z, and 410/460 include, as standard, the Tilt/Swivel Stand.
